On the S&W 2nd Model Hand Ejectors, the barrels were cut, and custom ramped bases with a dovetailed ramped sight were silver soldered on. The sights WERE made slightly higher, so that I could file them down to give a perfect alignment at 25 yards, then cold blued on the cut area. I am able to wind drift for left and right, but both guns were aligned perfectly by the gunsmith, and I have yet to move them. The guns were patterned after the revolver used in "Raiders of the Lost Ark" (there were two; this is the British Bapty Armoury variation). The sight appears high, but it is eactly the same height, with base, as the old "half moon" sight that was on the original barrel. The rear notch was opened up to give a better, square sight picture.

Can't say I'm crazy about the look(of the front sights), but it sounds like they function better. Love the stocks on them btw. I've never been a fan of target stocks or anything with finger grooves. I've always preferred the old fashioned minimal grips. The perfect fitting handgun to my hand is a roundbutt N frame smith with smooth "round top" ivory stocks. The ruger speed six is a close second. The only thing I dislike about the N frame is you can't get one with plain groove-in-the-topstrap rear sights. And the problem with the speed six is you can't put "round tops" on it. The hammer pin will fall out.

Sorry denfoote, I'm gonna have to 1 up you on that one :)

I might be dyslexic... but is that a 32 or a 23? One of both perhaps...

If you can over look the different barrel lengths, here's a triple:

All are 3-Screw, Blackhawk 44 Mag Flattops. Top is a 7-1/2", then a 6-1/2" and finally a 4-5/8".

I have several braces of handguns, a couple of braces of rifles, and even a brace of Canon 7D cameras, but posting photos here is far above my level of computerese. I can load images onto a CD, and print photos from a computer, but getting them to appear here eludes my understanding.

I even have a Flickr page, but folks who go to Flickr cannot see any images. Eventually, I will try to figure it all out.

I carry a brace of SP101s fairly regularly. Two of my several SP101s are 2.25" in barrel length, with spurless hammers, Trijicon front sights, and actions and finish work by Jack Weigand.
