I'd appreciate it if anyone has a picture of a 16" AR15 with the A2 carry handle and an aimpoint or other red dot mounted forward the carry handle. I'm thinking of adding this to my Bushmaster 16" carbine and would like to know how this looks/performs.

Second, hows the red dot supopsed to work, ideally on a flat top with no iron sights for co witnessing the irons? Do you use the front and rear sights?

Thanks

Got no pics - try AR15.com when it comes back up.

You can mount it on a cantilever mount on the carry handle. You can mount it on a flat-top, with either no irons, fixed front and rear sights, BUIS rear & fixed front or BUIS both front & rear. Your preference.

How about a 14.5"?

This was originally a Bushmaster Shorty AK.

Using the M2 for aiming by looking over the rear aperture.

Lowering the stockweld slightly to use irons only.

I'll give it a shot. Mine plinks pop cans at 100yrd mostly. I can flip up the caps and use the irons through the aimpoint if the battery should go dead or the sight break for any reason.

Not the best picture but I used to keep my digicam in my truck before I left it downtown one day. Somehow my window exploded inward and my camera walked away. Kidnapped my stereo too.:cuss:
