Just picked up what looks like a Newt Livesay Air Assault for a very good price.
There is very little information I could find about these knives online and I was wondering if someone knew more about this company or this knife. How is the quality and reputation of the knife and maybe when was it made?

The knife feels great in the hand (has to be close to 1/4" thick) and came with a very impressive kydex sheath.
The only markings on the blade are:

"AA" on one side
"Newt Livesay" and the letter "E" on the other.

Very happy to have a full size knife finally.

Should be a great knife... he got sick or behind or something I can not remember for sure right now. I do know they were a lot of knife for the dollar and had a following back around y2k... I would be proud to have one especially at a deal of a price!. Ya could check out www.bladeforums.com

Looks like an outstanding knife. Congrats. Great paracord wrap on the sheath. I spent the weekend doing similar to a number of sheaths. I can't add anything about the maker but I will now be on the lookout for his work.

All I can find is old links from 10+ years ago where he was a great guy who talked a good game at the big knife shows and took a lot of pre-paid orders.

His knives were highly regarded at the time.

Then somewhere along the line he went off the rails and stopped delivering the goods for what-ever reason.

Lots of unhappy campers who paid up front and never got a knife, or a dime of their money back.

Thanks for the replys guys!

It sounds like I should be grateful I have on of these since unknown or other circumstances prevented original buyers from getting them.

I paid $100 for this knife and I am a happy camper.
