Picked up my new Kimber 1911 Ultra CDP today and put 100 rounds through it. Very pleased. Easy to manage and very accurate, even with the 3" barrel. Recoil was no more noticable than my Sig 1911 C3.

I also put 200 rounds through my recently aquired 1911 STI Trojan 9mm. The accuracy of these 1911 firearms amazes me, it makes me look like a much better shooter than I am. At least much better than I am with my P250c .40 and P239 9mm.

CDP Ultra

My friend has a CDP Ultra without the II. The old original. I used and fired his

gun for a couple weeks. Absolutely accurate and dependable. He would not

sell this pistol for anything. I would trade any gun I own,(except my Anschutz

1712,) for it.

I have the SS Ultra II TLE w/CT grips and it has been flawless right out of the box. I do replace my RS every 1500 rounds. I did some test and found it lost 4# in 1500 rounds. So I tested the outer spring and it lost 2 so I figured the inner lost 2 lb too. The assembly can be broken down and new Wolf springs installed pretty easily. I have 2 RS assemblies and just swap it out when needed. The rebuild the old one. The manual says you only need to replace the outer ever 1500 and inner 4500 rounds. Since this is my carry gun I will change them both.

Enjoy your new found friend...

btw. There is a little plastic take down tool that makes breaking this gun down very easy...

What do we say.. Oh yeah.. No pictures.. it didn't happen.
Perhaps I'll post some pics in the next couple of days, because I just did a very bad/good thing today. I bought a Slightly used Ed Brown Kobra Carry. In the last 4 weeks I have bought;
SIG 1911 C3 .45
STI 1911 Trojan 9mm
The Kimber in this thread
and now the Ed Brown 1911 Kobra Carry.

I'll try to post a pic in a couple of days.
