just not what most of you expected, huh! OK, so I bent the rules a little... :uhoh:

S&W Governor 45/410 - couldn't think of a better back-packer. Will keep it loaded with 410 premium personal defense buckshot... :)

No... you're in the revolver forum... That's pretty much exactly what I expected. That, or the Taurus Judge.

Enjoy!

Shot and handled both and much prefer the Smith version.

I'm telling you they are fun toys out on the ranch lands :)

Also one of the few guns I can shoot right handed and still hit something.

You devil you!! :D

Despite all the hate and discontent on this forum concerning .410 revolvers.

I still want a S&W Governor to play with some day.

PS: You couldn't give me a Taurus Judge though.

it was a knee jerk purchase after having watched some 410 revolver videos on You-Tube. Although, I'm hoping the fun meter is as high as some of the reviews. I almost bought the Judge, but the 6 shot Gov. won me over.

I'm thinking these would be a good choice when hiking or back-packing...

for point of comparason, I've been using this Model 442 as my pack-gun. It's nice and light, but only 5 shots of 38 Special. Always felt a little under-gunned...

Well, I'd feel undergunned unless stoked with .45 Colt, myself, but to each his own. Don't need all that cylinder length for .45 Colt. I do have a .410/.45 Colt barrel for my Contender, fun to play with, but pretty worthless for anything useful. Choke installed, max range is 20, maybe 25 yards if ya get lucky. Shot at a squirrel abput 25 yards once with it and he sat there laughing at me. I have taken a rabbit on the run at 17 yards, though. Pretty cool thing to do with a handgun. :D I reckon the judge and governor would make decent snake guns if you like shooting snakes. I used to go out during the spring on my place when the rattlers were out and take one or two now and then for supper. It's off season for anything else and there's little else to do 'cept maybe fishing. That's how I got the rabbit, looking for snakes.

Congrats! I prefer .410 buck/.45 colt but really wanted the .45acp in moon-clips option. Better made than Taurus too IMHO. tom. :)

What you showed in your pic is an example of some people's (like maybe mine) ultimate woods carry piece: it eliminates handloading snake shot, and has the moxie to stop most targets when loaded with solid shot. I am almost envious.
