Does anyone have any photos of a S&W 686 or 629 with aftermarket bull barrel or slab side barrel? I am considering one but would like to see how it looks. Thanks

Here's my model 27-2 from about 1978 or 1979 with a Clark bull barrel. My friendly local gunsmith shortened and slab-sided it to reduce the weight. The barrel is every bit as accurate as a Python barrel; unfortunately, the trigger is still Smith & Wesson.

That is sweet. What kind of finish is on the gun. Almost looks like the purplish Ti Nitride that Magnum Research put on Desert Eagles. Looks cool.

Why is that a problem?

My guess is that though the barrel was now in the same league, it still wasn't as good as his Python overall because of the trigger.

Yep. A really, really, really good N frame trigger can be nearly as good as a Python trigger, but it's never going to feel like a breaking glass rod. Curiously, I have a 1951 K frame whose single action trigger breaks that way.

Really good Python and High Standard triggers leave everything else behind.
