the pistol wont feed well, lots of jams and stovepipes, failure to eject, one clip works fine and has 4 holes drilled in the side, the other clip has 5 small holes drilled in the side and likes to gimme hell like the spring is caught up on something.

has anyone else had these problems and figured out some remedies?

i got lots of time to work it over but need some tips on what to do since this is my first auto.

id just like to go a full clip w/out a jam, any tips to fix or is the gunsmithing a better section for this thread? i didnt pay for it just was given to me

Use it for a trot line weight and go buy a real firearm. Here's where I do agree with the "get what you pay for" crowd.

Seriously, for just a plinker, use the good mag. You might can change the angle of the round in the top of the bad mag by bending on the feed lips. Sometimes that works. If the spring hangs up, it must be binding on the sides of the mag or something. Maybe you can find something to spread the mag with, take the floor plate off and inspect it, see you you can run the follower up in there and see where it's binding an upon what. I wouldn't actually use that thing for defense or to rely on for anything, so one good mag would suit me if someone gave me the thing. I only have one mag for my Ruger MkII. Ain't like I carry it for self defense, just hunt and plink with it.

Whatever you do, don't let the experience with this pistol turn you against semiauto pistols. You could turn the table on whoever gave it to you if you could find a local police gun buy back and get $50 for it. Or, regift it to them at Christmas.

well id like to work out something on it to make a good, well half descent plinker. it is not only the mag though because it will jam with both but less with the better one, maybe polishing the feed ramp? but im not sure how to do that.

Try to find some new mags for it. You might be able to find them on Mid way. Most good gunsmiths will laugh if you ask them to work on that one. Don't bother. It was free so just try tinkering with it yourself.

Call the manufacturer, and see if they can do something for you. If not, sell it or trade it on something a step up, like a Hi Point.

Never even seen a Jiminez Arms piece, but it sounds like there may be some burrs, rough spots or rust in those magazines.

Can you take the mags apart and check? Also, looks for rough spots/burrs in the gun itself.

Honestly, I wouldn't take a Jimenez even if someone gave it to me for free. Junk guns make me nervous. If I were you, I would take it to a dealer and see if they will give you anything for it on a trade. Then use that towards a gun from a reputable manufacturer.

If not, sell it or trade it on something a step up, like a Hi Point.
The fact that the above statement is true is some indication of just how bad they are.

Haha. If you want a cheap gun that will actually be reliable and usable for self defense, why not buy a makarov for $150 and be done with it? jgsales has them in stock.

i wouldn't take them if one was given to me for free. i like my hands too much to lose them to a $2 junk gun. i have to agree with the brady bunch here, these are junk guns that shouldn't have been allowed to leave the factory.

well i think i got it to work, three rounds in a row and no problem lol.....just outta bullets now and im only 18.....with no 9mm dies!!

if it was just given to you, throw it away so some other person doesnt kill themselves with it by accident. i dont buy/never will buy a lorcin/jennings/davis/jeminez/ or any of the ring of fire. if they were to ban any guns i would hope it to be these. but i know that if they ban one, they will try to ban others

i have a .380 by them had simmilar feed problems unsure what they did when i took it in but gunsmithing was needed to fix it havent had a problem since

get rid of that thing u will be better off u can get a better gun u can get used rugers and smiths for like $250

bhp9mm, where did you find used rugers for $250? I've been looking for a p95 but can't find one that cheap i guess my only chance is a gun show?

As far as the Jimenez, a gun buyback is your best bet because they have a tendency to fall aprat after about 200 rds from what i've heard. Unfortunately, I doubt any gun dealer would pay so much as five bucks for it but the police or Ceasefire may

Like armoredman wrote I believe they have a warranty I would contact the manufacturer. Went to a small town SE of here last year deer hunting-while there my neighbor & I stopped at the local sporting goods-gun-snack & soft drink store. The owner came out with a pistol ran up to the bank next to the road & fired it into the dirt. Turned out to be a malfunctioning Jimenez. The person who had purchased it swapped it back to get a Smith & Wesson revolver. I would not depend on this gun for personal defense.
