Hello I have a AK47 Romanian WASR10 that has developed an ejection problem....

First off I have shot probably around 500 rounds and had a total of 2 stovepipe jams. After that I dissassembled the bolt and cleaned the extractor, which was full of gunk, and then, the next time at the range I experienced about 1 ejection failure per mag.

I pulled the bolt back apart to double check and everything was in right and it was  but I notice there's not alot of spring tension on the extractor but I don't know how much there should be.

When the failure occurs, the empty round is either stovepiped or pointed up inside the port. Tipping the rifle to the side, pulling the bolt back and letting the empty fall out is all that is needed to get back in action. Many of my empty cases have the mouth dented but I don't see where they are hitting. My ejector has a small bevel on the inside upper corner, closest to the firing pin, should it not have a bevel?

... meanwhile I have ordered a new extractor and spring, hopefully that's a good place to start?

TIA,
Jeff

This is the problem. The AK cycles with quite a bit of gas and the extractor needs modo gripping power to hold on. A proper AK extractor should be very stiff, otherwise it drops the case in the rifle. The new spring you ordered should take care of it.

There are lots of pills available for ejection problems. And don't be ashamed, at your age it is quite common. Just thank God you have the courage to admit this in a public forum. I have no idea what the 'bevel on the inside upper corner' is, but I am sure that a good doctor can advise you.

The "little blue pill" works wonders for "ejection" problems. There is one out there that solves your "ejection" problems for up to 36 hours:what: But any longer than that you need to see a gunsmith or at least call the mass media. In this day and age failure to "chamber" or "pre-mature ejection" can be easily "handled".

Southern Raider- thanks for the info, I'll try and be patient and wait for my new spring to arrive :) .

shermacman and telewinz- you guys crack me up...:neener: LOL
