Jim: Thanks for your kind words and for checking VTI. All the distributors say they can only get engraved cylinders from Uberti. I've taken my L & R cylinder to 2 different gunsmiths to see if they would remove the engraving on a lathe, but both felt that because the engraving is so deep, they would have to remove so much metal that the cylinder would become unsafe to shoot. I know some earlier Uberti L & R's had smooth cylinders. I guess I'll just keep looking!

Expat alaska, couldn't find your E-mail address so here is mine: [email protected]. You can have the cylinder for $20 and I'll pay the postage. Like I reported, it is new, unfired, no modifications and was mounted on a Pietta 36 Navy and cocked one time each chamber just to make sure nothing was amiss. I did find the stock Pietta nipples that were with it and will re-install if you want the cylinder. You can contact me at the above E-mail. Good Luck with your projects.

You were not wrong! Low serial number to boot! I am retired but I would have to work 2 jobs just to play in that market.
