The split tubular pin that holds the front of the Taurus' adjustable rear sight on the slide shook to bits several times. It was replaced the last time with a fitting piece of a drill bit and lok-tited in place.

The hard bit ate thru the top of the hole so that now there's a visible crack on the left side hole towards the top of the slide (in the, say, .7mm of metal there is...).

Anyone think there's a way to repair this? Or should I just go to the importer's for a new slide (this time a mod. 92 slide to avoid the whole rear sight fiasco :banghead: )?

Isn`t your gun covered by the lifetime guarantee that Taurus advertises? or did you buy it before they started offering that.

The life guarantee isn't available here... and the stupid fix :banghead: with the way too hard "pin" would forfeit it anyway. I guess I'll just have to replace the slide. Might as well go for two-tone while at it  and install some aftermarket adjustable sights in the 92 slide's dovetail.

Any experience of such sights BTW? On Taurus or Beretta? Something low-profile and snag-free?

:typo x2!

I've seen slides for sale on eBay, Auction Arms, etc. for cheap $. My 92 has the standard sights which are very nice.
