Handgun (revolver).' And yes, handgun was listed when I completed their computerized paperwork. I didn't expect this, but I didn't care if the gun got to the dealer in one day, two, or three as long as it got there.
Sorry bub, but there is no UPS "computerized paperwork" (whatever that is) that lists "handgun" much less firearms when printing or paying via UPS.com. I've been shipping guns every week for the last ten years via UPS and NOT ONE TIME has there been an option or required field to list the contents of the package.

There IS the published UPS policy on shipping handguns, which you violate if you shipped a handgun Ground. Buried deep inside all the legalize and general shipping policies is the UPS policy that sas no employee (or third party vendor) can alter or change those policies. So if the counter monkey says "Sure, you can ship that Glock via Ground"......you violated their tariff.

Yes, the insurance protects the seller since if the gun is stolen or doesn't arrive as planned, the seller eats it. This may surprise you, but I am generally prepared to "eat it" regardless as long as the dealer didn't receive the gun as demonstrated by the tracking info.
Tracking info is not conformation that the dealer received the package. The first question ATF will ask is "did you ship signature required on delivery"?

What do you call the "machine" that you use to complete the shipping information at UPS? I don't have a UPS account nor want one. I just do what they tell me to do. I don't ask questions and I am not going to challenge their shipping. Why would ATF ask me if I shipped signature required for delivery? As I recall, it did ask what the contents were. But it has been a while and I don't really care one way or the other, bub.

Added: I prefer to have a dealer ship any gun I sell. I don't like to ship guns. That cost is passed onto the buyer one way or the other. That particular shipment was done at the request of the buyer and shipped to his FFL. I have no idea what agreements UPS has. For all I know it went air, but it was delivered in two business days which sounds like ground to me.

I shipped to a FFL holder. I followed the rules. The gun was not listed as machine parts or anything like that. I prefer to have a gun shipped FFL to FFL. Makes my life simpler, but it is more expensive. That particular gun was expensive and a true rarity.
