Won't move?
So, it's really not THAT important to you, then.
Whining, when you have the personal choice to change that, about which you complain, is neither manly, nor High-Road.
Cowboy-up, grow a pair and change your situation or cry, cry, cry.

Give up employment? Probably lose a significant portion of your home's worth due to the real estate market all for a firearm's permit? Right, that makes sense. Then what? Unless you're independently wealthy, it isn't quite that easy.

Are you for real? That has to be the most ignorant thing I have ever read on this site and is NOT very "high-road".

Anyways...
Hey Montess.....I'm in Syracuse and am also waiting. I had my appointment January 19 and he said it would be a 2 month wait. Hopefully it comes soon. Don't listen to some of these guys. I too hate NY and some of the ridiculous laws, but I work for the City and get paid well and the benefits are too good to give up because i don't agree with the laws.

Hey, do what I did. Buy a lifetime Sportsmans license, and then move to PA!

I hear you, though. Central NY is a beautiful area. Lived in Onondaga County myself for a long time. Eventually got an unrestricted permit, too. I didn't leave in protest; just left for another job. But I use my lifetime license every year ...

Edit: Rats. I hate getting suckered by a zombie thread ...

All of you NY guys. Get politically involved, get the law changed...that is what you need to do. The only really dumb thing here in WA was the "no silencer thing. You could own one, you just could not use it.

Well enough people pointed out silencers protect hearing, and this is not a "gun" issue, it is a health issue...passed both the house and senate this year. Governor? not yet...but it passed by such a wide margin I cannot see her not signing, she would get overridden anyway.

GET INVOLVED!!!! I unintentionally broke NY state law, and didn't even know it (45 years ago) I don't think my FIL knew either, and he lived there all his life. I didn't get in trouble, because I took the pistol my FIL gave me out of state (to WA where there is no garbage about who can and who cannot have a pistol, basically you are not mentally ill, and not a felon, you can carry.) Your NY laws are screwed up and need to be fixed. Get Involved!
