Pistol Scope

I am wanting to place a scope on my BFR .500 and I'm torn between 2 scopes. Leupold FXII or VXIII. I think the fixed 4 power of FXII, but I like the zoom option of the VXIII.

What would you pick and why?

Will I have to move my head closer for the higher zoom that I go?

According to Leupold, the eye relief on the 4x is 18".

They say 15" on the variable.

You will not be able to hold the higher power settings still except when shooting off a benchrest.
