Pistol with a highest capacity magazine in .40SW

Which .40SW caliber pistol has highest capacity magazine in its *standard* configuration (no extended or after-market magazines etc.)?

I was thinking about asking this same question except a different way. What guns are likely to be classified as assault weapons and banned?

You should start your search at full sized pistols. My vote goes to Springfield XD40.

The STI with 22 rounds of .40 is using an extended magazine extending an inch and a half below the bottom grip.

I think SA is doing this same deal with their XD.

XD-m is probably the highest capacity gun in terms of rounds-to-weight ratio...great gun too. I'm not crazy about the looks. I prefer the regular XD for looks, but either way the XDm is still one sweet gun. I definitely want to get one in .40 some day..maybe they'll release a .45 soon so I can get that instead

Seems 16+1 is about the most you'll find out of any pistol without a magazine sticking way out the grip bottom..
