im thinking of the highest energy pistol package
excluding the ar-15 and ak-47 " pistols"
does any pistol come close to available energy with out reloading than the glock 20 with a scherer 29 round magazine so 29 plus 1?:neener:

A S&W 500 revolver can do about 2,600ft/lb per bullet. 5 rounds in the cylinder equals 13,000ft/lb in one reload.

9mm BHP with 30 round magazine, 115 grain bullets w/ 5.6 grains of Bullseye. 31 x 487fpe = 15097.

(I didn't say it was practical, but I've got one, and I don't have a S&W .460 or a Glock 20)

Well the good thing about a scoped .500 or .460 (or any number of other proprietary GOOD LORD THATS BIG! type cartridges, is that you can run until you are out of breath, turn around and still drop a BG.

Easy answer:

Kel-Tec PLR-16 w/ 100 round beta-C.:D

Outside of that, I'll take my Witness Limited 10mm with Hennings 6-round mag extension. 21+1 x 180 grain bullets at 1406 FPS.

The FN 5-7 with 30-round mag would be a handful...

Supposedly, you can stack the +10-round mag extenders and make a functional 50-round mag for it.

I have one with a 30-round capacity. But have not tried the 50-round conversion,,,, yet.

:)

in terms of 'normal' semi-auto handguns with the price below 700 and the weight below 2 pounds and concelable on your hip -- there are actually very few (if any) that can approach
the Glock 20 in 10mm (15 rounds)
or EAA Witness in 10mm (15 rounds).

Some 10mm commercially available ammo (I think double tap) generate 700 ft/p
of energy
so 700x15 is 10,500
