Alright gunnies, here's the deal.

For the sake of taking myself and a few uninitiated friends shooting, we were going to go shooting this Sunday at Midwest Gun and Range, but we learned too late that they are not open on summer Sundays. Sure, we could wait until next weekend, but I've been looking forward to this for the last two weeks, during which time I've done an entire quarter's-worth of Russian. The thought of having to go through another week of Russian before having some fun is a dismal one indeed, so I ask you this:

Is there, between South Bend and Chicago, or a reasonable distance from either city, a shooting range that rents pistols at a reasonable rate? (Preferably ones that aren't Fitz. :p)

Thank you for your time.

I'm pretty sure you can just open fire in the streets of Gary, IN. :neener:

And on another sarcastic note, I'm pretty sure if you did the same in Mishawaka, you wouldn't hit anything of value.

Blyth's in Valparaiso. "Reasonableness" is in the eye of the beholder

That's one of the three places that I'm looking at. (The way I see it, it's pretty reasonable, since it would be on the way from Chicago to South Bend.)

I take it you recommend this place?

Blyth's is a good place. Clean, pretty modern, good safety practices, and the employes are knowledgable and fairly jerk-free.

I know they rent guns but I've never done it so I can't answer to that portion.

The just closed range in chesterton, though... that was heaven.
