HRG: That thing shoots .30 carbine? Holy fireballs, batman! Can't wait!

Larry: Sorry you can't make that date... sounds like you are pretty busy!

8-23/24 and 8-30/31 are pretty open.. i gotta give the disclaimer that i may be called off at last miute due to wifey to be wanting to go inspect some china patern or some thing else that my opinion will be ignored but she wants me there any way...

BTW anybody here shoot trap or skeet ? i liike Livermore cuz its only a few minutes from my house and coyote valley is kinda spendy but nice facilities for sprting clays or skeet. i dont like having to throw my own or bring my own at los altos, but they do have the rifle and pistol right there for guys who dont shoot shotguns

Well, if everybody's going to INSIST at me, ok, I'll bring the G-32. :) Here I was thinking people on this board didn't like Glocks for some reason. (I don't like 'em much, they lack blued steel and polished walnut. But mine shoots like absolute gangbusters, and function outweighs form in this case. I love it. I just have to figure out how to make wood grips for it. ;))

Well, that's one pistol case full. And I'll bring the M-81 Remington autoloading rifle.

Aiming for 5, but it's looking like it's going to 8 or 10. I'm hopeless.

El Toro, LAR&GC sells skeet for about the same case price as Wally World. ($12-$13, I think.) And surely you can find a volunteer to run the flingin' machine, unless you want to play electric trap. You any good? I'm fishing for assistance, as I stink on ice. (No fair plugging the 8-23/24 date! I can't make that, and I'm committing my stuff to other folks! I have to go! Agh! this is like herding cats! ;))

Great. A shotgun, too. 12 guns? Hopeless...;)

well, i shot trap for the first time in 3 years yesterday and hit 15/25 and 20/25 with a 870 that was brand new... so i guess i'm ok... not as good as the guy who showed up with 10K perazzi..

Bump!

Is this still on? I saw that a few THR people are going to the Chuck Taylor carbine course this weekend, so we would lose some attendance.

That is correct sir! Atek3 and myself are going to be sweatin' to the oldies over in Concord this weekend; probably some others as well.

We'll see if Mr Taylor still puts on a good a show as he used to.

Let's shoot for September - too late to beat the drum... I dropped the ball.

I'm wide open - how about you guys?

We want the BUMP, ya gott have that BUMP!

Aren't we supposed to be shooting today? where is everybody? ;)

Date change noted. When herding cats, one is best served with kindness and patience, not a bullwhip. :p

I went a-diggin' for fun stuff. The current bring-along list is as follows.

Rifles:

Remington M-81 auto, .300 Savage.
MAS M-36 boltgun, 7.62 NATO.
Mannlicher-stocked Mexican Mauser, 7.62 NATO.
Steyr-Mannlicher M-95 straight-pull carbine, 8x56R.

Handguns, and my home-made pistol rest, so far:

AMT/IAI Automag III, .30 Carbine.
Glock 32, 357 Sig.
Steyr-Hahn M-1912, 9mm Steyr/Largo.
Springfield Armory Single Shot conversion kit on a Springfield Armory Mil-spec 1911, .308 Winchester. Bring your gloves if you want to shoot it. Be told.
Astra 600, 9x19, to shoot against Sven's CZ-75.
Shansei Arsenal Broomhandle Mauser, .45 ACP.
ADC Model 1 derringer, .45 ACP, cuz it's small.
ADC Model 8 derringer, known as The Monster, 7.62 x 39, gloves again.

That's 12, in 9 calibers. So much for 5. And I may yet throw in a bonus or two.

I don't have but a few rounds of .308, and the rifles prefer Milsurp. I'm hoping someone can spare me a handful of that cheap stuff. I have most of a box of commercial stuff for the Springfield Hand Rifle, (Which cannot abide hard machine-gun primers.) which ought to be plenty. It's a bruiser.

Decided to leave the shotgun home, trying to simplify things. Like 12 is simple.

I WILL need help getting all of this stuff run at least once over the course of the day, even if I don't shoot it myself! If you have any curiosity about what's there, track me down, and I'll hand it to you. With ammo. (Unless it's the A-m-3, or the G-32. Other folks are providing ammo for those, so you might have to ask them too.)

Hopeless, me...;):D

P.S. Remember to start stocking up jugs/2-litres/what-have-you for the plinking range NOW. Also important, a hat and SUNSCREEN!

Ran into 'Crimper-D' and 'Old Sourdough' today up at Sunnyvale Rod and Gun Club - hopefully they will chime in. This time, I'm going to set a date for mid-october and be less 'democratic' about it. ;)

Live chickens?

Not sure if Los Altos approves of that... hmm... maybe if they fit into a 1 gallon jug, it's ok. ;) ;) ;)

Sven: whoa, decisiveness! :D

QuarterBore: could you bring your AR with the Eotech? Really want to see one of those.

Chickens huh. Now are they the KFC genetically featherless chickens. Cause that would be kinda boring....................How about we bring out some flour bags as well. :)

Hey 45R I just picked up a new Remington 11-87 and will be happy to shoot some clays that day. It helps to get there early as the manual trap range tends to fill up as the morning progresses.

Hey guys. So... due to excessive excelence and incredible logic on my part, I have convinced my parents to allow me to shoot a gun.

Go me.

Could I come to this shoot? I could pitch in for the ammo. Also, could one of my parents come in tow?

Yours in victory,
Jack

So some people have ARs? I am DYING to shoot an AR!!! PUHLLLEEEASE let me shoot one!

Never shot a shotgun before, either. Actually, I've never shot a centerfire rifle either.

Jack,

Wow - would be honored to have you and your parent(s) join us. Bring eye and hearing protection for everyone. Please find me and let me know where you are... I'd like to capture your first shots on video. PM if you have any questions.

Let's move this exciting discussion over to the annoucement thread:
