I see that you can get .30-30 bullets from Berry's..........

150 gr. RS

Not sure what the RS stands for (round-solid?)

do you have to download for these plated rifle bullets the way you do for plated .357 bullets? (If I understand correctly, the .357 plating will come off if loaded to magnum speeds.)

any issues with plated bullets in Micro-groove barrels?

The Berry's plated 30-30 bullets receive a heavier layer of plating and are rated at 1,700 fps, so you would have to reduce your load to that level. I've never used their 30-30 bullets, but use a lot of their 45-70 plated bullets, which will outshoot any other jacketed bullet I've tried, and I'm pushing them pretty hard in front of 50 grains of IMR 3031 in my Marlin 1895, with Micro-Groove rifling.

I've shot thousands of Berry's bullets in different calibers, and have never had a problem with them.

Hope this helps.

Fred

"RS" bullets have round sides, with flat points... at least the 45s that I bought do...

so I thought RS stood for round sides, but I could be wrong!
