A7447E3F-8820-4F3A-AED2-7CF2804A4F64.jpeg Saiga on the left with many 1000s of rounds and c39 on the right with one range trip. This is the tail of the bolt carrier. The metal is clearly folding and peening on the c39. These are definitely made with soft metals. I am very disappointed with the c39. If any one is thinking about one Don’t do it!

I’ve had the saiga that I converted since 2007. And it’s spotless in wear. My suspicion is that the C39 is a POS. It’s a clever trick they play with a nice looking milled receiver and overall appearance. When really it’s a piece of crap with soft metals.

Yeah I’m going shoot the crap out of it and post pics in the future. It’s a shame really. With proper metallurgy they would probably be able to make decent stuff.

I have always said, and had to defend myself, that an American AK will be crap, while an AK coming out of some cave in Rumania will be golden. The reason is because the foreign ones are made to one spec. That is the only spec acceptable to their scared little iron curtain weighted brains. American AKs are made to the most economical spec. IE what makes the most money for the maker.

C39s are of poor quality and will not hold up. Maybe one day USA will step up and make a real AK that will stack up. I doubt it.

BCG has to be made of real metal. Just look at the pics. It’s a pathetic comparison.

There are/have been a few good ones, but the AR is America's darling, and for good reason. Frankly, I don't know why anyone would mess around with a Kalashnikopy when you can buy or put together a solid AR carbine for less money that will be more accurate, more reliable, more ergonomic, more accommodating of accessories, etc. But to each his own.

In Rob Skis 5k test of the C39 it was still working good and getting 2 moa with the peened internals at the end of the test. Headspace checked out. Bear in mind most buyers will never put a case of ammo through the gun. A win-win for Century since they seem to have a larger distribution network than anyone for AK. The few shops I've seen with more than one or two AK's were stocking mostly Century stuff and maybe a couple Arsenals. And always overpriced, lol.

Never ever buy anything the CAI drunken monkeys put together. I learned that lesson the hard way years ago with a Century CETME. Gah.

You're not alone there so don't feel bad. I bought one of 'em and due to wierd unexplained jamming, before I'd ever fired it, I never did anything at all with it. I'd give it away if I knew it wasn't going to blow up on some poor shmuck .....:uhoh::scrutiny::eek:

I bought a VSKA I'm happy with it. Yes it's a century arms AK. It works. Reminds me of a hipoint. A lot of folks hate them but they work. Could have saved up and bought a better one. It'sa range toy. Every manufacturer sends out a lemon. You might have got one. I believe they have a lifetime warranty. If so use it.
