Century American AKs... Well, if you are a typical gun buyer who gets a new gun, shoots 1 or 2 boxes of cheapest ammo from the store a few times per year then the gun will last a lifetime and make the owner very happy. If you are a volume shooter who unloads a case or two per month, definitely not so good. From my experience the century and IO US AKs are much more accurate than would be expected. 1-1/2 moa is actually possible, which would never ask of a WASR or other east European build. They also have good metal to wood fit and finish. So if pretty and accurate are your requirements, these American AKs are just fine. If you want a good old soviet bullet hose, will leave you sorely dissapointed.

BCG has to be made of real metal. Just look at the pics. It’s a pathetic comparison.
Theres not enough profit margin apparently.

I had a milled Bulgarian AK which would shoot that well

OP here. My saiga from 2005 shows absolutely zero dings or pings anywhere. I haven’t shot it a ton but definitely over a few thousand. I dump at least 3 or 4 mags through it every range trip and it’s usually wolf or some cheap steel cased stuff. And the saiga is spotless. The c39 after one trip had peening on the tail piece but oddly nowhere else. Still who likes to see that?

I think they have the designs right. Just make the steel harder in the BCG. And trunnions stronger on the stamped guns. That’s about it. But the problem has been going on for a long time it’s seems. Sooo... hmmm?

... I believe they have a lifetime warranty. If so use it.
THAT was the sore point of my entire CETME experience. It worked for 1 magazine full, then bent somehow internally so it would not lock a mag in or feed a single round from any magazine. No, I was younger and had very little idea what I was looking at, so I have to use the Bill Cosby description - is broke. The parts internally were BUTCHERED, with the ground bolt and wrong size rollers, too.. So, I called J&G Sales about the brand new gun I had JUST purchased from them. They told me to call Century. CAI told me the warranty HAD EXPIRED, WHILE THE RIFLE SAT ON THE DISTRIBUTORS SHELF!!! I was lucky to find a guy loved to tinker with junk, and I got ALMOST what I paid for it. Never, ever, ever again will I buy anything put together by the drunken monkeys of CAI.

Good news is I love to tinker. So when It does crap out it will give me something to do. So far it has held up. I do not put 1000s of rounds through it. So might last a few years might not. I'm happy with it and that's what matters.
