I have barrel marking pics and all kinds of info on this rifle but I can't figure out what it is. It has a bent bolt like an ex sniper as they call it but it doesn't look like anything I can find. Please help me. I'll upload some pictures

1930-1933 undated Izvehsks arsenal made soviet M91-30.

Cllean and strait lined serial with out a alphabetic prefix is an early round reciver'd M91-30. The 91/30's reciver was rounded and no longer "hex" (actually octagon) and was a streamlined and updated "Dragoon" length. Most dragoons were updated by rearsenal to the 91/30 model with meteric measured sights, with both the front and rear sights replaced. Thats why theres many a "ex-dragoon" 'hex" 91/30's out there.

Nice, and not common at all. Some had a blade front sight without a hood (later retrofitted) but had a bayonett with a front sight hood on the bayonet , as it was to be permanently mounted to the rifle. Was called the "Panshin sight" and quite a few seemed to have survived in war reserve and were not refitted with the post in globe.

Good fined, your early 91/30 :D

It does have the blade sight on the front. Shoots amazing. The stock threw me off. It looks like a normal stock except for the markings. There is no bandings, no end caps, no cleaning rods and no forward piece. I'll post a picture of the whole rifle a little later today. Doing research trying to figure out what it was kept throwing me off due to the fact the barrel has no date. Here's a few more pics

Stupid phone will only post one picture at a time

Pictures of the front sight, the front barrel and any 'slashed box's" about? [/] or on stock or metal. A picture of the sling slots would help too.

Are the parts missing or is the front of the stock just cut off?

The rear sight is definitly 91/30, as is the reciver.

The Blueing is deep, is there any black paint touched up on bare spots?

Even mismatched, its a great find, is the bolt bent? picture of the bolt knob would be nice too, even the reciver too, from above.

Does it have sling swivels or wire sling loops for the sling?

Is the trigger 'free" to swing or is it under pressure that returns it to the forward ?

If it is an early Panshin, finding the bayonett would ice yer cake.......and that isnt cheap or easy, but they are out there, and would increase the value of that rifle.

The bolt was bent down over here and is not a sniper bolt. That one could be a Spanish Civil War model, which often commands a premium even when mis-matched. The bent bolt handle hurts value, though. More pics are needed to confirm.

Front sight. I'll get a picture of the whole rifle when I get home. Stock doesn't appear to be cut. I have no butt plate either :( only paid 50 for the rifle. Shoots great :)

Not to burst your bubble, but that that is a "bubba'd" 91/30. The front sight is a replacement, and it is a standard bolt that someone bent down. You haven't posted any pictures of the whole stock, but I would bet it was cut down to make it more sporting. It should be a fine shooter, but any collectible value it once had is gone. Very common in years gone by with all military rifles, as they could be purchased for a fraction of what a new deer rifle would cost. Still fairly common for Mosin-Nagants to get butchered as they are still pretty inexpensive for the more common variants.

I just recently came across a Remington Mosin Nagant that knew Bubba. If I come across that Bubba, I shall slay him with my Westinghouse Mosin Nagant

Indeed.......

Shoot that thing silly, reload and do it again. Im all for useing a mosin ina utility sorrta way.

Done it plenty myself.

Great Hunting rifle at the least :D

Awesome. Thank you guys. When I was researching it and not seeing anything like it unkind of figured something was wrong. Can't beat a shooting rifle for 50 bucks. I don't really see a high value on mosins, great guns all around though. Just didn't want to abuse a possible mantle piece.
