Uh, you don't cover the target with the front sight post. You set yoru dope so the rounds impact at the center of the tip right along the top edge. If iron sights were a problem in that regard, we would have been in a lot of trouble at the 500 meter line on the KD course!:D

There is nothing saying you have to zero using the middle of the dot. The top or bottom of the dot can be used as a point of aim. In fact, you could make the argument that it is faster to just switch to using the bottom of the dot as your point of aim at intermediate ranges (300-400m) than it is to manually adjust elevation on A2 sights.

Thanks for the replies, guys! I am looking at the YHM and Troy, still cannot decide yet. Is Troy really worth the money? It is almost twice as expensive as a YHM rear sight. Is the quality of the YHM good? Does it feel solid and its pisition is precisely repeatable when fiipped up:confused: That is is just I want most from a BUIS.

On a slightly different topic, which recommended/high quality BUIS has the stock/mil-spec, L-shaped A2 dual rear aperture? Y'all know what I mean, right? Some have some different rear apertures, which do not interchange with stock aperture. One less proprietary thing to worry about.
