I have moved from Ohio to indiana and have had my ohio ccw for about 2 years and really feel weird not being able to carry. I need to still beable to carry in ohio. I have been through the 12 hour ohio class but since I don't live their any more I can not have the ohio license. I am looking for the cheapest and easiest and quickest place to get new license in the mail. I know Florida and Utah are the places I can go through. I think their is a couple more. I also am not real sure were I need to find all the forms.
Thanks in advance.

The quickest place would be your local police department.

You don't need a class in IN, you just need to show up, fill out the paperwork, have it notarized, and give them your fingerprints. Once you send all that stuff in to the State Police, you should have your permit in a month or less.

As far as cheapest, if I remember correctly, with all the fees, my 4 year permit ran around 40 dollars, but you can get a lifetime one for somewhere in the area of 100.

I have no idea if Ohio honors Indiana's permits, but I would advise you to check with the AG office of the issuing state AND the carrying state to make sure of anything.

The Utah permit is about $60, the class can be attended in any state, and last I checked, it's valid in 38 states to non-residents. It's 30-60 days to process, it was on the news yesterday, they just hired 4 (badly needed) investigators to speed up the workload.

F.Y.I. Utah is way backed up, at least for non residents, I have been waiting for well over 60 day's for mine. Hope to see it soon.

When I moved back here from CA, I had to play some mail tag to get them to get me the right permit, with the right info, mailed to the right address, I wasn't impressed. Hopefully this will make a difference. They were under fire because under their operating rules, they are supposed to check permit holders against court records DAILY to verify worthiness, and they weren't even close.

Indiana is one of the best states to live in to get your CCW permit, go to local PD, fill out paperwork, get printed, mail and then wait on permit (not sure on turn around time), greatest thing is to get your lifetime permit for $120 (I believe). In my opinion Indiana is the state to live in as far as support for 2nd amendment goes (sucks in a lot of other areas though :D). Of course thats why I feel its so surreal that they keep saying we might go obama (god I hope not)

Do you need an IN DL to get a ccw in IN? my situation would be living there as a student

FL is very easy to get the CCW. I used my old hunting license from when I was 14 years old to escape sitting in the classroom. They accept almost any formal weapons or hunting training down here and the licenses last like 7 years I think.

Here's the link to FL's info page about obtaining the CCW

I no indiana is really easy but I live about 20 minutes from the ohio border and am in ohio every day for work so I need to beable to carry in ohio also. ohio will not honor indiana's permit. So I guess i am going to have to do florida.
