My SW1911 (SKU#: 108299) has been pretty good, but judging by my experiences and others', I wish I would have gone with a Dan Wesson.
I've had minor feeding problems (~10/1000 rounds), although at least half of those may have been attributable to the (factory) magazines.
I also had a bizarre grip safety problem in which the hammer would fall to half-cock and fail to fire on 1/250 rounds. Smith & Wesson, of course, paid shipping both ways for a repair, but the grip safety came back extremely loose and "jangly" (i.e. noisy).
I'm tempted to sell it and get a Dan Wesson, but it being my "first 1911", I don't know that I wouldn't regret the move.
Things I do like:
The external extractor doesn't bother me from an aesthetic standpoint and definitely works 100%.
