if the guy had the invoice from Weatherby (or wby barrel) I would have it on the spot.

This is good advice. Would I know what I'm looking at? What would connect the paper work to this specific barrel?

(I need to figure out how to post quotes)

To quote the whole message, just tap the "Reply" button at the bottom right of the post you want to quote. It will take u to the quick reply window and insert the text from the quoted message.

If your quoting multiple posts use the "+quote" and it will add it to the clip board. Then just insert them in the quick reply box like you were copy and pasting.

To quote a specific section of a post highlight it, and "reply" should pop up as an option.

I wouldn't worry too much about the barrel replacement. Documented or not. You could contact wby and see if they have record of it. But again I wouldn't consider it important.

Especially for that gun at 400

Barrels don't have serial numbers but receivers do. Everything is tracked by the receiver. If they get a rifle back for work it's all tied to the SN on the receiver.

I keep all of my paperwork from mfg. I had a barrel replaced by Ruger. When they sent it back they had documented the barrel replacement and the rifle had a test target with it. If there had been a charge for a barrel replacement that would have been on the invoice and sent with rifle when it was returned.

Call the factory and see if they have a record of any work on that rifle. It isn't a large company, they should be able to locate the record.

Yep, I had to order a bolt stop for mine when I first got it- the prev. owner lost it. Called Weatherby, talked to a human lady right away, had my part a couple days later for $12 shipped. Very happy with their customer SVC. She even told me my production date just to be nice.

I'm sure they will have no problem looking up the repair order for you, if it exists.

apparently, no Timney(trigger is very nice though)--waiting to get documented info on barrel.
