I have had military training as well as attended instructors schools on several weapons and have competed with several types. For most people, a standard stock works better for fast pointing, target acquisition, different shooting positions and accuracy. You never see a sporting clays or trap gun with a pistol grip. A pistol grip has it's uses and if a person prefers it and trains with it that's ok but it limits shooting positions. One advantage is in some cases, an adjustable stock.
