^^ Yes,it depends on your pockets and that is in no way is limited to the pistols you just mentioned.
Some days with some pants or shorts with cargo pockets my PM9 placed in it's RKBA leather pocket holster is the pistol of choice.
Other days with other pants, especially work slacks, the LCP in it's RKBA leather pocket holster is the pistol of choice.
Both pistols are super reliable and can be trusted in a time of need.

^^^^^ absolutely ... I rotate LCP, g26, g30, depending on my attire. As the OP is looking for a pocket-able 9mm so am I too looking for something smaller then my g26 as I would like something to up the ante from my .380/LCP to a 9mm on those times I need to slip something smaller in my pocket or in my waistband.

Don't like all the doodads on the LC9, the CM9 seems to be to risky to count on, the PF9 seems to get better posts then the CM9, and with the Nano on the horizon I'm going to try and holdout to see how they are received. But so far I'm leaning towards the PF9.

I gotta say Walther PPS, dead on accurate, and 100% reliable...I was lucky to score one for around 400 on auction arms, have never seen that price again.

I saw a pre-order Nano price online for $410. with free shipping, which I would have to add to that a $30. FFL transfer fee and an $8. BGC ... costing about $448. OTD.

But taking into account all the pre-market hype that Ruger's LC9 caused, and depending on how it is previewed by the first inline buyers, I'm guessing it will probably take about 5 to 9 weeks for it to be ready available once Beretta start shipping um ... of course that all depends too if it is reliably excepted immediately or if it takes a while to workout any of the first-generation's production gremlins?

Just have to wait to read the first tsunami of forum range reports posted around the WWW. Then again if it is a big hit then like the LC9 it could sell at a premium for the first few months too. Just MHO

For the smallest possible 9mm handguns, the following is a pretty complete list, roughly by size...

Rohrbaugh R9...............0.8"wide.....5.2"long.....3.7"high.....14oz
Diamondback DB9..........0.8"wide.....5.6"long.....4.0"high.....11oz
Kahr CM9.....................0.9"wide.....5.4"long.....4.0"high.....14oz
Beretta Nano................0.9"wide.....5.6"long.....4.2"high.....18oz
Kahr CW9.....................0.9"wide.....5.9"long.....4.5"high.....16oz
Kel-Tec PF9..................0.9"wide.....5.8"long.....4.3"high.....13oz
SCCY CPX....................1.0"wide.....5.7"long.....4.0"high.....15oz
Kel-Tec P11..................1.0"wide.....5.6"long.....4.3"high.....14oz
Ruger LC9....................0.9"wide.....6.0"long.....4.5"high.....17oz
Sig Sauer P290.............1.1"wide.....5.5"long.....3.9"high.....21oz
Taurus 709 Slim.............1.0"wide.....6.0"long.....4.5"high.....19oz
Taurus Millennium Pro.....1.1"wide.....6.1"long.....5.1"high.....19oz
Walther PPS.................1.0"wide.....6.3"long.....4.4"high.....19oz

For Comparison:

Glock Model 26............1.2"wide.....6.3"long.....4.2"high.....20oz

All of these, of course, range from $250 to $1200 and have varying degrees of dependability. Additionally, there is a fairly strong correlation between the size and the comfort of shooting. Also, while the sizes are sometimes not noticeable, in a "pocket" gun, 1/4 inch can be a pretty big difference. Some of these would be better IWB. Good luck!

Ok I'll throw my hat in the ring...Just have to put my flame suit on...Ok what about the Kimber Solo. I picked up one three weeks ago I have to say I'm impressed. Long 380 story short, traded my PPK/S for a Sig 238, didn't perform to my liking. Walked into my LGS and spotted the new Kimber Solo, with three 380s I wanted to get rid of the Sig and step up to a 9mm. Broke it in as per the instructions (25 rounds of 124gr Remington golden saber rounds) then 50 rounds of 115gr WWb with out a problem. Real Happy so far!

It isn't a 9mm but I sure like my Taurus 740 Slim. Very concealable, very accurate and of course this one has the .40 S&W punch. The 709 Slim is just as nice with a good bit less recoil. For a real pocket pistol I carry a Ruger LCP .308 not quite as powerful as the 9mm but not all that far behind either but it disappears on a pocket, even when wearing shorts.

I've got a g26 and carry it most of the time, but when it's too big to hide due to what I'm wearing and where I'm off too, I carry an LCP. I was considering a CM9 or a PF9 to graduate up into a 9mm over the LCP. The CM9 is a bit more $$$.$$ and a little more refined but from what I've read it doesn't seem to be as reliable as the PF9 which is a *very big deal breaker* and the PF9 which is almost half the price but a little larger is what I was leaning towards until the rumors about the Nano started circulating. Beretta seems to say that by the middle of Nov or so that their new Nano should be somewhat available so the range reports should start flowing in before the first week of Dec, so I think I can hold out another say ... 8 or 9 weeks but if not ... and I do get a PF9 at least it wouldn't set me back to the point that I can't trade it in on a Nano if I want to.

i dont need the smallest possible, the LC9 is plenty size efficient for me.

i'll trade a few 10th's of an oz/in. for reliability any day. ive gone through 2 kahrs and still have an unreliable keltec.

^^^^ the LC9 is way too *Californian* for me :scrutiny: KISMIF :D once I get to caress a Nano and compare it to a PF9 ... as hard as it is going to  be ... I think I can wait :banghead:
