Pocket Carry

Can't praise enough the DeSantis Nemesis or SuperFly nylon holsters. Sticky on the outside (so they stay in the pocket), and slick on the inside, so the revolver comes out easily.
DeSantis Nemesis is my favorite. I had one for a Ruger autoloader that was stolen, and I replaced the gun with a Glock 43. I have a DeSantis Nemesis on order now for the new Glock. Couldn't be happier with this pocket carry holster.

Interesting.

I've found the Glock 43 to be too big for my pockets-jeans and your basic khakis.

Let me know how it works for you.

I've wondered about going to a tailor and having my right front pocket altered to better hold a weapon. Has anyone tried that?

Not everyone's body style and choice of clothing will accept a good conceal pocket carry.

For most heavier built people, Pocket carry is great, but for a slim built person who wears slim fitting pants, jeans, etc. pocket carry will only work if printing is not an issue.

I carry a Kimber Ultra carry 45 ACP, in the pocket, and it is undetectable with shorts or jeans, and without anything covering it. like a shirt or jacket. There is noting more advantageous than carrying in the pocket for defensive carry.

When I can, I like appendix carry. An all steel Bodyguard doesn't weight your pants down like it does in a pocket. The Barami hip grip works but it is too slick without racquet tape on it. I see where someone has produced a similar style grip and S&W has put it on a few revolvers.

When I have to tuck a shirt in pocket carry is quite often my only viable option.

All of my other holsters are leather, but my only pocket holsters are Uncle Mike's. Pocket carry either a PM45 or PPK/s in them (size 3 and 4 if I remember right) - they've held up nicely and always stay in the pocket when I practice draw with unloaded guns. Not sure how long I've had them, but 4 or 5 years at least. Edit- just realized this is the revolver forum. I never pocket carry a revolver, but sometime IWB a Detective Special in a some kind of soft tuck (can remember the proprietary spelling) swede holster.

I like that idea of wax paper :)
Anyone who pocket carries, has had an occasion to draw the weapon and bring the holster out with it.... AS a retired Engineer, I took on this challenge a few years ago because after 50 years of carry... carrying in the pocket gave me the best advantage... So the problem with pocket carry was not enough pocket to holster retention, and the lining of the holster had a tendency to grab the weapon. So I needed to increase the friction on the exterior of the holster and decrease the interior friction. .. So I added the hook and loop Velcro side to a Mike's Pocket holster, using super glue gel and to decrease the retention on the inside, I added a liner of waxed paper... the wax paper makes the draw effortless, and the waxed paper keeps the holster lining free of gun oil, and body sweat from the gun.

I've pocket carried for several years, ever since my state legalized concealed carry.
I started with a nylon Blackhawk #3.
Once I felt it was getting old I bought a Galco leather holster.
The edges are getting a bit worn, I may have to buy another.

I'm not as handy as adcoch1 - so I do "have" to buy 'em.
I think it's dangerous to carry without a stiffer holster.
Too easy for the gun to move around in my pocket & I also don't want pocket lint in the barrel.

While I really like Myka holsters and have several, I needed one quickly for this older .44 Bull dog. I have a sail maker friend who copied a Myka for me out of Naugahyde and with rubberized thread stiching and it works about as well as the real deal

I have had a DeSantis Nemesis for a while now, and its starting to form fit the gun. I have an R9 so it doesn't print hardly at all, but when it does, like if I sit down and instead of sliding to the side the gun stays on top of my leg - the Nemesis doesn't break up the outline like it used to. A stiffer leather holster would make it indistinguishable from a wallet.

I also think for back-pocket carry a leather holster is going to be better than nylon.

I've had my eye on a Bear-Creek back-pocket holster for some time.
