Been thinking about carrying my j-frames in a pocket. Decided to try out a Blackhawk nylon pocket holster #3, which appears very similar to an Uncle Mike's Size #3, since it was cheap but still gets generally good reviews from users before buying something more expensive.
Couple of concerns: Gun fits loosely in holster, as in, if I turn it over, gun falls out.
Other concern: with the (unloaded) gun in the holster, I can slip a finger in between the holster body and the gun enough to actually place it on the trigger and pull it back.
Gun stays in pocket while I draw, and looks remarkably like a wallet in my front pants pocket. But I was wondering about the two concerns, are they normal with this style of holster, and are they non-issues with pocket carry? I know guys that simply drop j-frames in their coat and pants pockets with no holsters at all, but that's not for me, even with my 638's long and heavy trigger pull.
Thanks for reading.
