Pocket Carry

Only pocket carry for EDC. With a minimalist kydex pocket holster that covers trigger guard. I only carry a very flat wallet in that pocket with the handgun; it breaks the handgun outline. 99% of the time I’m in dress slacks with roomy pockets.

That nut-in-the-barrel photo confirms the need to dedicate the pocket to handgun only.

The only gun I’ve pocket carried was an NAA mini. I have both carried it alone and with my keys. With my keys, I’m aware of the dangers of fiddling with it and accidentally cocking and firing it. However, I tried it. I don’t carry a small gun often. I generally carry a full size gun suitable for field work. 1911, gp100, Blackhawk. Currently it’s a Blackhawk.

Alabama Pocket Holster for everything in serious about carrying. I like Mika Holsters, but not for striker fired pistols. But we do what

That’s the only thing I keep in my front left pocket. If I’m going into a place that frowns on me wanting to defend myself, I will put my iPhone Max in front of the holster to shield it. I can still draw if need be, but all people see is my phone outline if they are looking. Phone is removed immediately when I’m back on free ground.

When I pocket carry the only things in there are the gun, a KelTec P3AT and the holster, usually a DeSantis The Trickster. Primary is sometimes a Kahr CM9 in a DeSantis SOF-TUCK IWB holster at my 4:00. If no shirt pocket then cell phone goes in my left front pocket along with a spare mag.

I have been pocket carrying for over 30 years. I started out with a small revolver and moved to a small 9mm. While carrying the revolver, not in a holster, I had a quarter that was in the same pocket lodge between the trigger and frame blocking the trigger and making the gun useless. Since then, I have carried in a leather pocket holster, and as you can see it is very worn but does the job perfectly.

If your pistol has a button to drop the magazine and you carry in your back pocket it's good to check and make sure the magazine stays fully seated or when you need it it's only a single shot. Been toting pocket Carry for over 40yesrs

So far I have only used the Desantis Nemesis pocket holster in my jeans pocket. It works fine for a draw, but both the P365 and the P365XL grips print. Even with the taller XL grip module, the P365X hides completely inside my jeans pocket. The manual safety lever on the right side has been cut off.

I'm seriously considering the Recluse TS Front pocket holster for my jeans.

I had to carry in my right jacket pocket while riding my bicycle yesterday. The Desantis Nemesis pocket holster was useless for that because the holster won't stay inside the jacket pocket during a draw. So temporarily I used a leather scrap inside the right pocket to hide the P365X outline and pocket carried without a holster. It worked relatively well. But it would be better if the pistol was held upright in a holster. But I did need to add magazines to my left pocket to counter-balance the weight of the pistol. Also, I needed to keep the bottom of my jacket zipped, otherwise the weight of the pistol and magazines would swing around my jacket and bang against me.

For my jacket pocket I am considering the Recluse TS Cargo pocket holster.

Pocket carry for me, means to protect the trigger, and ideally the bore and slide from debris. IMHO Vedder pocket locker is ideal. My Shield is in it 90% of the time. Boraii trigger guard protector is on my LCP for all pocket carry.

Pocket carry in front right pocket every day for 13+ years.
I do carry a glasses cleaning cloth and a small flashlight in that pocket as well. Helps break the outline in slacks.

And aren't there some pistols that will not even fire that single round if the magazine is not in?

I've been looking at pocket holsters on the internet, and the Recluse TS Front pocket holster seems to be the only one that has leather in front of the pistol to prevent printing through the pocket, and it also opens at the front and rear of the holster to allow you to get a full grip on the pistol. I think that it's going to take a bite out of my next paycheck.

My left rear pocket seems like the best place for a spare magazine. If the magazine is pushed to the left side of the left pocket, I can sit without any problem. So I either need to find a magazine carrier that will stay in position inside the rear pocket when I withdraw the magazine, or maybe I could add Velcro to the inside of the rear pocket. Any suggestions?

I quit carrying one of the smaller 9mm in my front pocket because it would release the mag. I dont remember which it was. I quit carrying my CM9 because the mag base would release and dump the bullets in my pocket

That said I carry a snub and speed loader and nothing else in that pocket

I wanted to carry a small automatic in my left front pocket, like Bill Jordan said, but tended to bump into things and drop the magazine. Right pocket, no problem.

Seacamp will not fire round in chamber if magazine is not in.

Magazine is not likely to release from the Seacamp. I like your idea of the snub for carry.
