"Not to mention the lines of the '62 Police and it is probably the sweetest .36 caliber revolver ever built"

Absolutely....

Strawhat,
I believe your quote came from "The Quick and the Dead".

I have seen .44's bounce off a piece of plywood, not a lot, but a couple of times.

I have also seen individuals who had bullets bounce off their skulls. One had a 9mm bounce off his head. It messed him up pretty good. He would take out his glass eyeball and cuss the individual who shot him. The other individual had a .22 LR bounce off his skull. The bullet struck him square in the forehead. It then travelled under the skin to the very back of the head and exited without penetrating the skull. Times being as they were for the telling of his story, he would take his hat off to show the scar. And that was the signal the fight was about to begin.

Both are oldies, 1968 and 1971, by ASM. I got them in a trade for something non firearm. The biggest problem I have is the square guardds do NOT allow my trigger finger into the area. I do not have this problem with any other small frame Colt clone, just these two. Looking to replace the guards but that is a pain. May just have to let them go.

Here is a picture of an original 1849 Pocket with a 5 inch barrel, this one is all matching parts I have another one which I had to "restore".
The other picture shows an ASM 49 along with an 1851, the chrono reading is for a mild load in the .31 Cal Pocket.
And for your viewing enjoyment a real Colt Pocket Police ( made in early 1970's) this is a 5 shot .36 Cal which is almost the same size as the 49's..this is a great shooter even if the point of aim is off.

ASM may have had some bad days but they offered revolvers in configurations that people wanted. I, for one, was sorry to see them go. Skinny, that 49' Pocket with its longer more useful barrel is real sweet. I just hope either Uberti or Pietta start offering more barrel lengths, but you know what they say, "Hope in one hand and S%$# in the other and see which one fills up the fastest"

I have one and the .32 S&W cartridge conversion cylinder for it. May not be the most powerful round in the world but as a non military round either cap & ball or cartridge either rimmed or auto this size round has to be in the top 10 of guns produced. An anemic round maybe, but popular yes.
