I'm considering a lil' pocket pistol. Kel-Tec P32, but I'm open to little revolvers too. Couplea questions:

1. Do most of you keep it in a pocket holster of some sort while in the pocket, or not really? If not, then not worried about the trigger getting pulled somehow I suppose?

2. If you do keep it in a pocket holster, is it no longer a "one handed weapon"? I'm puzzled as to how you could pull it out and remove it from the holster with one hand.

Thanks!

Well-designed pocket holsters stay in the pocket when you draw your pocket gun.
They also break up the outline of the gun, making it look like a wallet or a bunch of miscellaneous pocket debris, rather than a gun.

Pocket holsters: Don't leave home without one!

As ACP230 said, don't leave home without your gun in a pocket holster.

There is a whole myriad of styles made from different materials - from nylon (Uncle Mike's) to leather to kydex to all sorts of things. The bottom line is the holster should keep the gun secure in your pocket, in an upright position, and cover the trigger/trigger guard area to prevent an accidental discharge.

I make my holsters from leather and offer a variety of pocket carrying styles. I personally carry a Kel-Tec P3AT in one of our popular 2n1 convertible holsters in my front pocket, and generally with the anti-print panel attached (it snaps on and off).

When drawing my gun, a couple of things happen. One, I'm able to get pretty much a full grip on the gun, and as I reach in the panel "flexes" away from the holster and is pushed up against the pocket lining. Two, I generally "pull and push off" at the same time. I use my index finger to push off of the holster itself. The retention of the holster against the gun is such that the gun easily comes out without dragging the holster with it. (The rough side of the leather on the anti-print panel is actually against the pocket lining and creates a "friction," aiding in keeping the holster in the pocket as well.)

Our 2n1 design masks what you're carrying in your pocket - the only "printing" is the outline of the panel. Even with the panel removed, and carried in a front pocket, you still see an overall squared shape. If you wear clothing that is tight against your body, then its recommended to use the anti-print panel.

I suspect you'll receive a number of responses to your questions, so take the time to consider them all, as everyone has their own preferences. Good luck in your search, and feel free to contact us if we can help in any way.

One hazard of carrying a pistol in a pocket with no pocket holster is, the gun winds up upside down in the pocket.

The gun shifts around in the pocket, and soon or later, you find the gun has turned upside down.
Not only is the gun barrel now pointed up at you, it can't be quickly drawn.

With MOST modern CCW guns like the Kel-Tec, Kahr, and DA revolvers, it's UNLIKELY the trigger can be accidentally pulled in the pocket, but it's POSSIBLE.

The pocket holster just adds an additional layer of safety.

Absolutely use a good pocket holster. For about 20 years, it was my favored carry method with guns ranging from a PPK to a S&W36 to a KT P11. I'd still use it but my agency specifies a larger gun than I can carry in pocket.
