POI=POA ammo for fixed sight GP100?

Anybody got any hints on factory ammo that shoots close to point of aim in the fixed sight 4" half-shroud GP100 DAO revolvers?

You might have to try different weights of bullets to see what works. Iknow may not be what you are looking for answer wise,other than raise or lower the front sight which is pretty radical and permenant! Hope this helps

I'd try 158-grain JHPs first. If they didn't do it, I'd look at the hot 125-grain loads. These are the most common .357 Magnum loads. FWIW, you might want to try the 145-grain Silvertips to split the difference.

All of them should line up POA - high, dead on or low. If going left or right - make sure it's not an operator problem first. Most common groups for casual revolver shooters will be low & to the left if right handed. If they are going all over the place - run several rounds from a firm bench rest - SA shooting position. If the gun is okay, you should see a consistent pattern develop.

If you are getting consistent groups that are high to low of POA - then it's not an operator issue. For me (and most), the lighter grain rounds tend to shoot low. 158 grain rounds should be pretty spot on at about 20 yards. Choose the weight you prefer and mentally adjust accordingly for elevation.

I'm assuming here we are talking about a fixed sight revolver. If it has adjustible sights - they can be used to compensate for different weights (and shooting styles). Just pick one and adjust accordingly. The key is use a consistent shooting style and conistent round loading & weight.
