Hi all,

Does anyone know of any sources for a polished blued 2-shot magazine extension for my 870P? ALl I can seem to find are matte and parkerized ones. While a factory original one is preferable, it's not mandatory. Thanks.

Chris

Due to their primary use on defense and police guns, no one makes a bright blued extension for the simple reason that no one would normally want a shiny extension.

If you need a bright blue extension, buy a satin blued version and have it polished and blued.

have you tried brownells,,, i just bought 2 from them,,,a 2 shot for my 870,, and a 3 shot for my 1100,,,, made by choate,, i think that's how you spell it,,, comes with spring, follower, and brace with sling stud.... i think they're around $42 each they are blue like the barrel,,, they also have them in park

hope this helps just my .02

FYI... I was just on the Choate website and it looks like they have polished blued 7, 8, and 9-shot magazine extensions for $40... for many makes of shotguns, including the 870. They have matte blued as well.

Here's the link:

Interestingly, they have both regular weight and and lightweight versions. I'm not sure what the real difference is. I may try one out for my 870P since it has a polished blued barrel.

Choate's "blued" magazine extensions are actually a satin black sulfate finish.
They are not polished bright blue.
These extensions are to match the satin blued finish Remington used to use on their blued Police guns.

The matte blue is to match the finish currently used on the Express guns.
They also offer parkerized models.

Their "light weight" extensions are actually for 20 gauge shotgun models.
