Springfield XD-45 with an extra mag and a S&W 642 for the wife with the Crimson Trace grips and 3 extra speedloaders. Then there is the 12 gauge kept in the closet.

just keep the mossberg 500 next to the bed, 5 in the tube and 6 more on the side saddle. I also put a tacstar light on it. does the trick for me.

......for now at least

Quick open safe with revolver at hand in bedroom. Other safes in closet with ready ammo for each weapon on hand, only a couple thousand rounds. :what:

I keep my XD40 for my wife and have HP 40 carbine and a Mossberg 500 in the bedroom. Also have a M1 carbine, but it's in a case under the bed.

I keep a Beretta 9mm for me and a Charter Police Bulldog .38 for my wife in a quick-open safe. I also have a large flashlight nearby.

yep

Glock M19 with a TLR-1, Surefire flash light, moss 590 in the corner of the room, behind the door (so when the door is open you don't see it).

I keep approximately 3,000 rounds of ammo loaded into magazines for various weapons...

5.45x39
7.62x39
5.56x45
7.62x51
9mm luger
.45 ACP
.22 LR

There's no reason not to...

Not making fun of you or anything, but you reminded me of that scene in "Tremors" when the Graboids invaded the "wrong rec room". Everybody thought Burt was a little odd until those Pre-Cambrian life-forms started popping out of the ground and then he was the only one equipped to handle it.

Just as chance, I have a few long guns in the rifle and shotgun variety loaded in the bedroom. I have a couple handguns loaded in there as well. Even my deer rifle is loaded.

And all that is going to be changing soon when Jenn and I are successful in getting pregnant. As it is, two adults and two Jack Russell Terriers are here. With kids, change is in order.

I'll have one handgun and one long gun at reach, and those will be stored differently.

Oops...I screwed up my vote. I actually keep 5 loaded or with ammo immediately ready.
PT145 and Ruger Security Six sit in the safe almost all the time, loaded and ready to rock. I carry my KelTec P3AT daily, but at night it sits in a menge a trois' with the other two pistols.
I've got two shotguns, bot are kept with ammo in buttcuffs holders, but not loaded. That's for the kiddies.

Carry weapon comes off and goes on a high shelf by the bed. One 870 comes out of the safe to stand bedside, another stays in the closet propped by the safe. Mossberg 500 in the safe, Mossberg 835 in the safe, Ruger P97 in the safe. NAA Guardian .32NAA in the safe. NAA guardian .380 in the dresser drawer.

Those are just the ones that are loaded.

A revolver and pistol loaded and ready to go. A rifle and shotgun loaded but w/o one in the pipe.

On my side of the bed, a S&W model 65 3" .357 loaded with Remington Golden Sabers and an 870 18" with #4 buckshot. On my wife's side, her S&W model 642 loaded with Speer Gold Dot .38 +Ps.

All I need is one gun - the voice activated orbital ion cannon pointed at the front door. :neener:

For backup I have the following loaded and accessible:

Walther P99c
CZ75B .40S&W
Kahr PM40
Franchi I-12 12gauge

So, 3 pistols and a shotgun?

XD 9 service in holster on the nightstand with a Surefire G2 LED next to it. Then an 870 with a 18 inch bbl with a full tube of 00 Buck in the closet.
