Am I the only one who thinks we have too many polymer framed pistols coming out with no love for alloy? How sweet would a steel-framed H&K USP be?

Are there any NEW pistol designs that are not polymer based?

From the age where people wipe their butts with newspaper to todays nice soft two-ply, pistol design hasn't really changed much. Metal or plastic, it's still a crude device where you throw a pellet at someone.

I want a light weight, reliable weapon. Preferably one that shoots beam of light and adjustable settings. :D

YEs, but mostly target pistols.

Such as Walther SSP .22 LR. (totally new construction. alloy frame, and very expensive)

There are other steel-framed half-new guns, like the SIG X-5, X-6.

For service/selfedefence the polymer rules.

Polymer frames and other parts are going to rule because while the tooling to make them is expensive, the parts themselves are dirt cheap. When a manufacturer has made enough product to pay the tooling costs the future will look very bright.

Today's firearms industry is increasingly driven by cost savings. Steel and alloy frames and components are far more expensive to make. Speciality guns will remain with metal frames, but be increasingly expensive.

That guys, is the harsh reality. :banghead:
