I am having a case of polymer fatigue and wonder if I need to go back to a good, old full steel metal pistol.

Looking at a Cz75 compact in .40 S&W or a Cz P06, which of course in alloy, ot steel but lighter (1.7 vs. 2.4 lbs). Ah - here we go again towards the path of less weight which will lead to the polymers...

Or - is there any other slim frame, even single stack .40 out there that I can't think of with a steel frame?

How about a Kahr K40 (thin and all steel)? I have the K9 and really like it a lot (carries real nice IWB). Some of the used S&W 3rd Gen .40 autos might be just up your alley too. If you like Sigs, try to find a P229ST or a newer P229 Elite Stainless (both models are a work of art (IMHO)).

On what firearm? Where on the firearm?

I think he means boredom. Because for every perfectly serviceable gun there is an owner who is bored with it.

Hey, it's a reason to buy a new gun. Nothing wrong with that!
