CZ Polymer Pistols (P07/P09) vs. steel/alloy CZs

I think what we have here is a case of you getting way too analytically on what I was saying.

There's no dispute that decocking levers are in point of fact levers. I was commenting on how the levers are operated. Or, in pictures:

Too analytical? Perhaps, but I was simply trying to address YOUR assertion that:
"...the Sig decocker doesn't really have the same action as the Ruger. The Sig is more of a straight down press where as the Ruger is a rotation."

You took a bit of artistic license when you drew your arrows. While to you the SIG decocker seems to move differently, in more of a straight-down direction, the SIG decocker tab also travels downward in an arc just like the others -- it just doesn't travel as far. It is a good approach. (The curve of it's arc can be seen in the raised metal on the grip frame in your photo.)

You were complaining that CZ changed their method -- and I didn't understand why the new method was a problem -- as the new CZ approach was also seen in other widely used weapons.

On the plus side, the newer Omega design, seen in the CZ P-07/P-09, seems to be relatively unique in offering a user-changeable decocker or safety. (There may be other gun makers who offer that capability, but I can't think of any at the moment.) I suspect CZ will continue to offer their current (75-based) design for years to come, but I won't be surprised to see most of the future CZ guns using the Omega system.

I also expect to see a new striker-fired CZ design, one of these days. If SIG can overcome it's prejudices and do that, I suspect CZ can, too. Just changing to the Omega system was a pretty big move for CZ, as was embracing polymer. :)

I don't think you'll find too many people claiming the decocking lever as one of the strong points of the M9. ;)

I carry both the Phantom and the P-09.

I have no difficulty with the decockers, and yes, my P-09 is set to decock, not safety. Im glad I got a Phantom when I did, considering they went bye bye, but I am equally glad I have the P-09, which is my authorized off duty right now.

I wish they would have made the P07/P09 mags interchangeable with the CZ 75 mags.

The 75 mags will work in the P-07, just not in the 09. They are to short. Or the 09 is to long.

I've read that the standard CZ mags will work in most P-07s and P-09s (length allowing), but they're just LOOSE in the mag well. If you already have a CZ, you can try your mags and determine whether they'll stay in place in YOUR P-07 and P-09. Seems as though CZ missed a potentially positive selling point by making the P-07/09 mags just a hair wider than the old mags...and incompatible with older CZs. Wonder why they went that route?

I think they did it to fit more bullets in less height, similar to a double stack magazine.

All of the CZ mags are double-stack. But you're probably right about more rounds: they got 16 rounds into their compact P-07, while the earlier compact CZs (in 9mm), including the P-01, PCR, Compact, etc., held only 14 rounds. More double and less stack with the new mags... (The Sphinx SDP does 15 rounds.)

The CZ P series pistols are very impressive if you are looking for a poly pistol with a hammer. The finish is very high quality nitrate on the main steel components and the ergos and triggers are excellent.

High value and real bargains at the current street price.
