Poor Service From Comp-Tac

Well, I'm convinced that the company has their act together after reading how they handled Steve.

In fact, I was looking for a Glock 19 holster, I think I've found it. Expect an order from me soon.

Techbrute, your wife finally let you play on the internet again?:neener:

Wow, are you actually going to invest more than $5 in a holster? :neener: I thought that Uncle Mike's nylon was working fine for you. :D

And it wasn't my wife, it was the new job that actually expected me to WORK while I was there... go figure...

I'm not too sure of the high roads rules concerning business' posting on thier forum so if you need any questions answered or problems that i need to address send me a email im [email protected] or [email protected] or just call the shop (281-209-3040) or find me on Glocktalk.com (there is a secton for sponsors and i can post all day long there).i'm at the shop at least 14 hours a day.Speaking of which i need to go home and remind my kids who their father is.thanks for the comments good and bad . And jerkface i could if i had your pistol but as of right now i can't.

Hey, I also use Don Hume, that's more than $5.00, but somehow I always wind up going back to the soft Uncle Mikes. I have Hume, Galco and a few others, but the simplicity of the Uncle Mikes just makes it my go to.

By the way, your job must suck.:neener:

Don....wasnt it your wife that said you couldnt hang out with us anymore?

Yep, she said that my natural trust of fellow man, combined with your insistance on wearing "leather-man" suits with the zipper face mask to the range made her nervous. Seriously Steve, butt-less chaps in winter?

That and of course you guys INSIST ON SHOOTING ONLY ON FRIGGIN' SUNDAY EVERY STINKING TIME!!!

...um....and someone who used to be on this board sent a disturbing email that she read....but he's not a member anymore and if'n I ever saw him, he'd be missing a member. But that's not the point.

Besides mine = safety issue
Techbrutes = porn issue

That doesnt really seem that all that bad of service. Ultimately, they sold you what you ordered, at the price that you agreed, and got it to you within a reasonable amount of time, that really is what one expects from a seller. They were willing to exchange the clips without charging any silly restocking fees, just the price difference for what you ordered. The only real flaw I can see with their service was the advice that they gave you. Personally I hate J-clips. The person who outed you, does he know that you tend to carry a gun? There isnt a holster in the world that will keep a person from seeing a gun that they know is there.

Soybomb,
i handle 99% of the customer service and emails here , i might screw up on occasion and if i did i apoligize .I will make any error on our part right if given the chance . if you said forget it ,thats what i did then . We try our best to help people out and get everything right, if i failed you ...i apoligize. alessi does make good leather by the way but Tucker's is better IMHO

Chris
Sounds good, thanks for the response chris. Tucker's answer with your kydex is really nice. I think lou's pch just seems to hide a little better on my body overall, but to be really fair I need to try tucker's all leather holster too....ohhh the money I could spend on holsters. :D

I received one a week or so ago for my G30. I wore it all day on Sunday (under an un-tucked sweater) and no one noticed (not even my wife). Reasonably comfortable and the spacing on the cllps makes it very stable. A good belt does make quite a difference. YMMV.

Thanks Chris.

i have dealt with aguyindallas and comp-tac and think they're both top notch.
alduro on the other hand...... er, never mind:evil:

Thanks saddlebum

I appreciate everyones feedback. As far as I am concerned this is handled and over with.

Just adding my 2 cents worth -- While any transaction can have a rough spot, I am glad that this was resolved to everyones satisfaction

I have had 4 purchases from Comp-Tac over the last 2 years, and all was flawless. From my conversations with other of their customers, this is the norm.

For the record, I had a C-TAC with c-clips. I didn't like the c-clips so I swapped out for the standards, and been pretty happy with them.

Been made with the holster though, running a 1.25" belt. Wearing the same shirt both times so that may have had something to do with it. By roommates, too so people who are with me all the time.

I have a shirt tucker that I have been very happy with. Comp-tac's service was second to none. They really went out of thier way to accommodate me. I won't say exactly what as I don't want to put them on the spot. Sufice it to say that most business won't go out thier way in the same manner as Comp-tac. I will be a repeat customer.

For the record, Techbrute does not have a porn problem. I was kidding. He has the porn thing well under control.

This is a great lesson for all CCW'ers, always check yourself out in a mirror before you go out after slappin' on a rig, especially a new one!

I bought a Gurkha from Comp-Tac about 2-3 years ago. Chris and I had a nice conversation about the Glock 32. The belt clip broke after about a year. I called Comp-Tac and had a replacement within a few days, no charge, no fuss.

I haven't had a need to buy a holster since then, but when I do, they're the first ones I will consider.

Maybe we need a Comp-Tac Groupbuy. :D

Glad to see that Comp-Tac took care of you.

Glad to see that Comp-Tac took care of you.

I have a comp-tac ctac for my P228 with the standard clips, even on a brown belt I've yet to have been called out on it. Although a little pricier than others my Comp-Tac holster fits better than any other kydex holster i've tried.

What exactly would that accomplish?

It's not exactly difficult to spot the pistol when you know a) that it's there & b) where it is.

My final update

I received the clips on Saturday and the payment went out in todays mail.

Thanks Chris/Comp-Tac...I'll be back.

I am glad it worked out well.

I for one have a Comp-Tac holster for my Kahr K9 and it is one of the finest holsters I own.

I highly recomend their products to anyone looking for a good Kydex Holster.

Whew!

I'm glad to hear this turned out well... I was looking to finally buy a Sidearmor 4th Gen IWB holster for my G23, only to find they had discontinued them for some problem with the belt attachment. Well, on Glocktalk I did a search, and found someone recommend the Comp-tac holster instead of the 4th Gen. I checked them out... bookmarked them so I could contemplate the purchase. I currently use a Galco Royal Guard, and man that's one thick holster. Anyway, I finally made the purchase today, and in an attempt to figure out where they were located to estimate shipping times... I googled their phone number. In my results I find one titled "Poor Service from Comp-Tac" Man, my stomach sunk a bit. I am so glad it turned out well, and that the actual holster is superb. BTW, I ordered the C-Clips, so I get the support from the belt instead of the pants, but less visibility than the standard clips. I can't wait to get my order in. Can anybody tell me how long they take to ship?
