Threw this together with some left over 1 and 1 1/4" PVC laying around.

Bottom "legs" are 1 1/4" and the lower uprights are 1" with 1 1/4" to 1" reducers on one end, and 1" T on the other.

Then more 1" uprights with a top piece.

Right now I'm using duct tape to attach the target board, but plan on maybe some kind of clips to hold each corner of the backboard.

All broke down and bungee corded together for transport. Light enough to carry with one hand.

I made something very similar. I use cable ties to hold a sheet of cardboard to the frame.

Next time I make one I will use at least 2" pvc pipe as the 1.5 I use now bends too easily when the wind blows. :(

It looks like you shot that target with birdshot:evil: and your pvc pipes didnt break ? :D

After every election there are thousands of campaign signs stuck on every corner in the county. They are made with a metal frame with the candidates info on the inside. I'm sure they don't mind me helping them "clean up" after the election and they do the same thing for free. I've got several behind the wood pile.

Real estate signs work even better if you can get them legally.

i do the same thing as jmr40 only I ask first. all they ask is that I cover the candidate's name or picture so that others at the range don't take it as political upheaval (shooting them in somewhat of an effigy i guess). they work great.

The campaign yard sign thing is pretty smart!!!

Zack, no shotgun yet, just a whole bunch of .22, .25, .38 and 45's!!! :)

I made several out of PVC, but I switched over to wood; 2x4's and some firring strips. The strips are just held in place by friction. The wooden frames work great in all but the heavier winds. On those days I either use metal tents stakes or something heavy to weigh the frame down.

Yeah, it was windy the first day I used mine, I just set pieces of firewood on each end of the bottom legs, and it held it in place just fine.

This is my PVC version. I use some old style window weights and insert them in the legs to keep it stable.
