As you may be aware, I recently purchased a P3AT for use as a BUG. I was generally well pleased by the little gun, despite some teething problems, primarily the magazine dropping under recoil. The gun has been quite nearly 100 percent reliable with ball and Golden Sabre, the only jams encountered were on shots where even I must admit that my grip was not as firm as necesarry and I will take the blame. I fixed the mag problem by initially filing the release to lie near flush with the frame, and when the problem continued I stripped the weapon and bent the mag catch spring slightly to increase tension. I have had no problems with the weapon whatsoever after this modification. The mag releas is now stiffer than stock and nearly flat to the frame, but the mags still drop when I hit the release with my thumb.

I was so pleased with the inexpensive little gem that I sent Kel Tec an email and told them of my positive experience stating only that I had had some minor problems with the mag dropping and that the problem had been remedied. I did not request any service on the weapon or complain. The signature on the email account I used to send the mail has both phone and paper mail contact information on it as I often use it for work related correspondence. Imagine my suprise when about 3 days after I sent the email a padded envelope shows up in my box containing a new mag catch and spring from Kel Tec. No charge, no shipping, and parts weren't even requested. Attatched was a note that if problems continued I was to immediately ship it back at their expense and promising a rapid turnaround.

Now that is how to treat a customer. Kudos to the nice people at Kel Tec.

I'll ditto that experience. My sub2000's front site broke off. Baffled as to why, I called Kel Tec and they sent me, free of charge, three replacement blades. The front site is a translucent slice of plastic that can just break off under normal use. Great response, great service!

Of course the front site on my M1 Garand is now over 60 years old and has never broken...

i've been a member at both kel tec sites for a while. i dont think you'll find a company with better service or more knowledgable and helpful forum members to talk you through your problems. great folks
