I signed into the accounts for credit cards that I hold. After finding the "Contact Us" option, I asked if they planned to implement the proposed codes for firearm purchases. For one card I did a keyboard chat session about the issue with one of their reps. Whether my actions will have any impact I do not know, but if all of us were to do the same, maybe. At least they know that I am watching.

Simple solution - Don't use credit cards to buy anything gun related.

Most everything I buy, is bought using plastic. Been that way for a coupla decades. Not just with firearms, but everything. Generally have very little if any cash in my pocket. Many times I buy guns/ammo/accessories when I come across them at a price I can't refuse. Without plastic, it would be a missed opportunity. Since I get money back for every purchase I make(even those gun related), it's better than cash, especially with large purchases. I have yet had a credit card company refuse to have the card honored because the sale was "gun related". Maybe if and when I do, I might change my mind.

I don't have any credit cards. Life is pretty simple without them.

I'm pretty sure they already exist since bank of America was able to track a person who made a "gun purchase" in 1999 to a Washington DC hotel on January 5, 2020 and then volunteered that info to the FBI according to congressional testimony.
