These threads are like picking at a scab. At first you think "Eeeewwww", and the next thing you know.........

Only four? And I had to become a "Mad Max" type of a guy?

Okay, here goes.......

An M1 carbine ragged out and doing double-duty as a religous staff...... one of those 12-ga double-barrelled whippets....ummmm.....a hand crossbow......and a mini-14(???) (I'm realllyy reaching here....been a while since I've seen those movies.....).

Full-auto Browning 1919, my SAR-1, a ROMAK-3, and a CZ-52. Mostly Comblock stuff for the pure heck of it :p :D

For a more domestic blend, probably the Browning 1919, a Benelli Nova H2O, an FN M249, and a Glock 18c. Wait, those are still mostly European...:uhoh:

Okay, here we go. Browning 1919, Thompson M1, and 2 1911s. In a Mad Max situation, you need reliable stuff. :cool: :D
 
My selection for the typical SHTF/Mad Max/Zombies/Comet Impact scenario from guns I currently own:

1. Wilson Combat M1911 .45ACP
2. Either Ruger or Browning .22lr target pistol for game gettin'
3. Remmy 870 pump 12ga.
4. Bushy AR15 .223
 
I agree with Abominable. This is Mad Max we're talking about.

Pistol: Automag in .30 Carbine
Shotgun: H&R single-shot 12 ga w/ 30" bbl
SMG: Mini-Uzi (gotta get the higher ROF of course)
Rifle: Barrett M82A1 (Geneva what?)
 
Ok, the excrement has hit the oscillating wind factory and I can have any four firearms I choose. Hmmm:cool:

1.For close combat, a Springfield Mil-Spec 1911 A1

2.For small game hunting and home/camp defense, a ’97 trench gun (I love my ’97)

3.For tactical and big game functions, Springfield M1 A1 with a 6-20X50 Pro-Plex BDC Government Model scope and Arms Through lever Rings.

4.And when you have to reach out and touch somebody, Berrett Model 82A1M

Let the games begin. I always wanted to be a warlord fo the apocolypse.
 
After the apocalypse comes, I'd want what the heroes use in this story. One guy packs a Ruger Super Blackhawk and a regular Blackhawk that's custom chambered for .44 Special and carries a 10-gauge or a Winchester '94 as a long arm. Another has a customized Colt National Match and carries a Thompson or an M1. Another has a Royal Blued Python and packs an M60. The last has a Smith & Wesson 39, an Uzi, and an M79 grenade launcher. It's a pretty cheesy, pulpy story, but a lot of the gun stuff is right at home here.

A few of the first chapters are a little muddled and need to be rewritten, and will be soon, in case that throws you off.
 
Well Id go with an AR-15, Ak-47, Mossberg 500in 12 ga, and a Gp100. I'd cheat with inserts for my 12 ga to utlize 9mm(or other calibers) I find

I think my choices change every time I respond to one of these threads....

Any way, picking from my safe,

1. M1A with plenty of Australian mil surp
2. SAR-1 loaded with its favorite ammo, Wolf
3. Glock 17 w/3 loaded with 124+p GoldDot's
4. Ruger 22/45 loaded with Velocitor's

Strap the M1A to the side of the bag, AK in my hands, Glock on my side and 22/45 stuffed in to the bag

This would be kinda tough, as I feel if someone saw you hauling around some nice rifles on your backpack, he would not hesitate to take them for himself.

Sooo...

I would take ONE 14.5 inch M4 with a flat top & BUIS + micro ACOG.
A collapsable stock is also mandatory.
If their is room a Ceiner 22LR kit with 2 magazines.
Supressor
It would be carried broken down and hidden in a backpack.

I would also take a concealed 9mm, preferably a XD40 or similar reliable 9mm pistol.

Any quality made replica flintlock pistol, preferably as modern as a flintlock pistol can be in .45 caliber + a bullet mold.
This way, when we are all out of centerfire ammunition I can make natural blackpowder and use lead wheel weights off of cars to keep shooting.

One Cricket .22LR or similar *SMALL* bolt action 22LR rifle with threads to accept the M4's supressor.
This would be the gun I would tote around unconcealed. (supressor OFF unless I am DEEP in the woods) If someone was to ambush me, I would be in some ????... but then again I wouldnt want to attract attention with a nice centerfire semi auto in the first place. It would only come out of my backpack when I am ambushing or have the need to assemble it.

Since three guns I am taking are very small, I would also reward my foresight with a nice cleaning kit and several bottles of oil.

I have everything covered.

Big game? Shoot it in the face with the AR15
Medium game? Shoot it in the neck with the AR15
Small game? Ceiner 22LR or Bolt action, shoot it in the face

Being Ambushed? XD-9, 2 in the chest one in the head
Ambushing people? Supressed AR15 in the chest
Ambushing a person sleeping/ drunk? Ceiner 22LR at 10 ft with supressor.

If im feeling nostalgic I could whip out the black powder pistol and shoot stuff in the face. Im pretty sure it would die too.

2. Beretta BM 59 with collapsable stock.

3. S&W M649

4. Winchester Model 1912 takedown with 20" barrel

And because it's my list I would also have a Sig P232 as yet another back up.

Hmm My choice for Post Apocalypse gear including Vehicle...

  • Armoured Hardtop Humvee with Rooftop XM312.
  • 1911 in .45ACP with tritium night sights
  • HK MP-7 PDW in .45ACP with tritium night sights
  • M4A1 in M203 Config with carry handle mounted NV Electronic scope.
  • HK MSG-90A1 with Illuminated NV electronic Scope and Supressor.

Not to mention all the ammo and supplys I can haul in the Humvee....:cool:

Heck yea! I've done plenty of hiking on the AT, but there is no way I'd want to carry that load! That's just to get everything to the Jeep, after that I'll let the internal combustion engine handle the load :D
