And hopefully stop myself from populating/adding rails shortly thereafter; else I end up with a microwave on the side and no money for food to cook in it

MRE's don't need microwaving! Just stuff one in the butt stock!

Besides, the gas generator/hydro pack is too darn heavy.....even in carbon fiber.

Here's a few of mine. One is a DSA factory xm4 and the others are frankenrifles I built with parts I find on the boards. The bare lower is a "pistol" lower that I'll build a fun-gun from next.

I just got done building the 24" and traded it for a high end FAL a couple weeks back. I only got to put 15 rounds through it. :D

Not meaning to highjack the thread but do you folks with the vertical foregrip find it gives you an advantage, if so in what areas? My AR is the Bushmaster M-4, pretty much stock as of right now.

The VFG's feel pretty natural IMO. I have been on the fence about getting one, but I usually just hold the front of the magwell and I have small hands so I don't have a problem doing that. I've always liked them when I have tried them on other people's guns though, esspecially a carbine.

I don't care for them, the only time I like having one is when the rails start getting filled up with a bunch of junk, it makes it easier to manipulate the controls on the accesories. For example, with a white light and a laser I like to have a VFG, but with just one of the two, I would rather not have the VFG.

My two. Number 1 was built number 2 was bought.
