Powder for 30-30 Win.

I was wondering what powders I could use as well for my Marlin 336.

I use IMR4350 for my .06 and download it by a grain and a half to 57.5 and couple that with Nosler 150gr BTips gives me just over 1 1/4" groups out of my 760 pumpgun.

I saw 4350 in the Speer reloading manual could be used with 170gr flats for 30-30 so tried it with some 170gr DeepCurls. The Speer max load of 34 grains with the Deepcurls gave me 1" groups at 100 from the Marlin.
It's not as fast as some others but I shot a doe this past season with the Marlin and she went right down.

I suppose i just use what I had, like the OP.
varget was the only powder the OP had that was listed in Speer #14.

I'm not a big reloader so may I ask what reference books some of you guys use to work up these loads?

I was juggling Hornady 8 th, and Nosler online data for my best guess. I thought I would need to pull the 33gr loads but they were fine.
The weather has not been ideal for the chrono

I have what I have, powder choice is limited here.

I have only used IMR 4064. with SIERRA 170 gr bullets. Killed both deer very dead very quick. Been a while since I shot the rifle... a Win '94, 24" barrel. I put peeps on a few years ago.

Out of what you have, Varget & BL-C(2). I heartily recommend IMR 3031 and IMR 4064.
