Anyone got somewhere to start powder-wise for a .243 Win...rifle is a Remington 700 and bullets are 100 Grain Nosler Partition.

Thanks!

Hodgdon H4350 or Varget. Both are very insensitive to temperature variations (ammo very cold or very hot) and don't require magnum primers.

Accuracy is exceptional from my Ruger 77 Mk II .243 with H4350 and 100-ge Hornady Interlok soft-point Spitzers.

I also really like 38.8 grains of Varget with Combined Technologies 95-gr Ballistic Silvertips.

Personal favorite load in MY rifle is a 107 grain BTHP Sierra Matchking, 9 1/2 Rem primer behind 42.50 grains of IMR4350. The proverbial raggedy hole... in my rifle, anyway (Ruger MK II Varmint, timney trigger, lapped barrel). Nothing else very fancy... just a great paper-punching and coyote load.

I used the H4350 with 100 grain bullets and got close to one inch groups with my Remington 700 in 243. Then I recently went to a 90 grain Sierra GameKing and used H4831. The groups shrunk to app. 1/2 inch. WOW! Super accuracy- repeatable by the way- and a great bullet. Have taken numerous deer with the GameKing in other calibers, so am confident with it in the 243. I like the slower 4831 in the smaller calibers, have had better results. Still like the 4350 in my 30 cals though

I did Winchester 760 for a while, it was ok, until a bud turned me onto Varget ( or as the french say Var-jay) haha. I fell in love with the Varget load.

I seem to have great luck with Varget powder, Remington 9 1/2 primers, and Winchester brass. Hope this works for you...
