PPC revolvers

I have two, both built on s&w 10-5's. One is built on a snub frame, with a short ejector rod, which is interesting.
Both are incredibly accurate and have butter smooth actions.
The one with the wood stocks is by "Coles Customs", whoever that was. Forgive the grease storage coating.
The other isnt marked.
There was a time when these were cheap. I don't see them going for cheap much any more though.

The last one I bought, a 15-2, I had high hopes for as a shooter. 20240227_173649.jpg but on top of being beat to heck it ended up also being sloppily put together and extremely worn and loose so it went back to the seller.

I had a Jarvis-built gun on a Model 10. Six inch Douglas barrel with an Aristocrat Tri Set rib, which gave an absolutely perfect sight picture. The trigger was completely redone as a "roller" set-up, and it was easily the best DAO trigger I've ever tried. It required Federal primers, but good lord that thing was magical. I'd been under the impression that Cylinder & Slide did the trigger, but I can't confirm it. I've honestly never seen anything like it since, and as the gun was stolen decades ago, I have no way to research it.

Of all the guns I've had and now don't, that is the one that stands out. I'd trade away half my collection to get it back. I've had an eye out for a replacement for many years, but here in California that is a real trick, and with the way my finances are these days, even if I came across one I probably wouldn't buy it.

Tl;dr: Yes. If you like revolvers, you'll almost certainly be thrilled with a PPC gun.

A friend bought the roller action kit from C&S, I don't know of anybody else making them and I do not see it on their site. I read that Bill Laughridge had retired.
Long ago, I saw a Sherman roller action Colt. It was marvelous... until the roller hung up and skidded across the trigger top.

Purely a "game" trigger. I wouldn't have dreamed of using it for any "serious" purpose. Mine never failed, though, and oh my, what an incredible thing it was.

My Python is a Colt Custom Shop Tedford Action and is a "Federal SPP Only" gun.
Our group of volunteers on the county team all shot Pythons because we could enter both Open and Distinguished with them. Heavier than a K38, before the Distinguished Combat Magnum came out, and with enough adjustment in the Elliason sight for a neck hold at 50 yards.
