made in the 70s (german) blue 80-85%, no box or papers 1 factory and 2 after market mags.

It's owned by a friend, he's no idea what it's worth.. I could likely buy it for whatever price I tell him... but as I said, he's a friend.

What's the book value?

I regularly see used stainless American made (both Interarms and S&W) ones for $400. German made PPK/s generally were worth more so I would expect a pristine example to reach as much as $450. I figure with the finish wear you describe, probably $300-350 would do it. Just my thoughts on it anyway.

Oops, just saw you wanted book value. We'll have to wait until somebody chimes in who has a current copy. Mine's several years old.

My PPK/s was

made in Germany in 1972...I bought it off a friend who only had it about 2 months and was upgrading to a larger caliber. The finish was around 95%, with just the sharp edges showing signs of wear. At that time the book value was $500 for excellent....$450 for good. I paid $400 in 1998. Carried it off and on for about a year...usually in the summer. Real easy to conceal...

Well I called a local shop and asked them what they'd pay for one in this condition and they said no more than $300, and perhaps as little as $250 of course they'd have to see it before commiting to a price.

The wear on the pistol is all from holster wear, it appears to have been shot very little.

I think I'll offer him $300 for it. My wife needs a carry gun as she's just gotten her CCW and it should fit in her purse just fine.

Thanks for the help guys, it's always appreciated.

Give him 300 tops and don't trust after market mags. I have found only Factory mags work good enough for carry. I carry CorBon 90grHP in mine CorBon new DPX should be out in a month That should help the 380 a bunch. I'd order new recoil spring from Wolff and polish the feed ramp.
