My daughters M98 in 22-250. Boyds "Coyote" thumbhole stock with fluted satin blued ER Shaw barrel, Timney adjustable trigger. It is a great shooter. She was hitting Prairie Dogs at 350 yards consistently the last two days. This gun was built off one of my dad's old M98 actions, set to Shaw, and fitted with the Timney trigger. My gunsmith friend blued it, I installed the trigger, and glass bedded the action only. Barrel free floats in the stock. 1:12 twist

My M98 in 22-250. It used to belong to my dad. He built it in the 80's and gave it to me in 2012 the first time I went Prairie Dog shooting. It is a 22" bull barrel with a 1:14 twist. Double set triggers. Full length glass bedded in figured walnut thumbhole stock. This rifle is dead on balls out to 400 yards. Best shot I have every made has been with this rifle. One shot, one hit at 605 yards. verified by the hunting guide.

thanks, some nice rifles there the double trigger would be nice for them long shots. one day ill build a 98 target gun, tho the deer rifles shoot real good to. my 09 argentine mauser is a 1/4 moa gun from a good rest. do you remember what shaw charged for the barrel, thinking of going with them on the next rifle, save some cash to.

It was in the high $400's, They list the prices on their web site. https://www.shawcustombarrels.com/barrels/price-list-for-barrels-and-services-/164

A friend of mine and I have been wanting to do this for years but I never have.

All we have are pocket gophers around here and I have only seen one above ground that wasn’t already dead. I guess pond turtles are our target of opportunity.

I'm glad you guys had some fun. I would love to do this one day but right now any out of state vacation is out of the question. Your a cooler head than I would be if the guide would have treated us that way. How do you like those ER Shaw barrels? I am going to rebarrel a savage into another caliber and they seem to be decently priced.

My daughter's rifle shoots bug holes at 100 yards and no more than a 2" group at 300 yards. 55 grain bullets are that guns fave.
