I have an old 1955 Winchester model 94 in 30-30. The barrel has beautiful blue on it, no real marks. The receiver finish is worn off and is kind of a gray-brown color. Action is perfect and smooth. Stock shows finish worn off in spots but no cracks, gouges, etc.

I am thinking of selling it and have no idea what the value in your neck of the woods would be. I have seen pre-64 guns go for $800 all the way down to the $400's.

It just sits in the closet, don't really shoot it, am not really a collector. Got it in partial trade for a gun I had once upon a time.
What would you do with it?

It seems that the majority of Pre-64 model 94 Winchesters average between $450-$650 depending on condition and of course if someone really wants it. There are people that are asking more, but there were literally hundreds of thousands of these produced and that tends to keep the price down.;)

Take care and good luck.

I always regret selling guns. I would really regret selling a pre 64 Win and you might also. I've owned 2 model 94s but both post 64. Take it out, shoot it, enjoy it. Great deer rifle both open country and woods.

There are certain quintessential American firearms I think every gun enthusiast should have at least one of: a 1911 Colt and a sa "Peacemaker/Frontier/Calvary" model Colt (or representatives thereof) and a Winchester Model 94 are three that come to mind. There are many others but these three are the ones I feel every collection would be incomplete without. But that's just me. :)

What would you do with it?
Personally I would keep it. It's one of those guns that I believe you will regret selling one day. I'm with bowhntr04 in that I usually regret selling guns, so unless I really just don't like the gun, I keep it. My opinion is that I would rather have a Model 94 as a safe queen than not have a Model 94 at all.

It will stay for the time being. I took her out to inspect/clean and it does have a certain appeal to it. Nice old gun. Deserves some love. Might make a nice first deer rifle for my son someday...

Thanks for taking the time to reply.
